Between my second and third years at University I worked towards my Professional Practise diploma. It required one years work experience as well as an evaluating piece based on that experience. For my placement year I started my own business with some colleges from University. That business was called Identity Games.
Based at the I.D. Centre in Derby, Identity Games produced games for the Xbox Live Indie Marketplace, offered apprenticeships to new students and took on small programming contracts. Identity Games was funded by the Enterprise Inc. scheme and set up to test the viability of this business model in free marketplaces, such as the Indie Marketplace on Xbox Live.
